Duelling Designs First Collaboration
As I mentioned in the brief for the Second Chance Design Challenge, this month I would be collaborating with the talented blogger Emily from A Pop of Red. I met Emily at the BConnected blogging Conference and loved her DIY necklace. I thought it would be lovely to invite her to work some of her crafty magic for one of the blog’s challenges. She accepted my offer to work together and started created designs that would compliment the two garment designs in this month’s challenge.
Design 2, the black and grey Swirl Jacket won this month so we chose two of Emily’s designs that would compliment the garment. I had no idea what she was going to design, but I was not disappointed. I love both of the designs and cannot wait to see which one you choose. To vote click on the button above that corresponds to you favourite design. Keep reading below to learn more about each design from the designer herself.
Design 1: Fallen Leaves Necklace
A copper wire necklace that features 3 types of leaves hooked together to create a statement piece. Using hopefully no binding wire or hoops, these “fallen” leaves will rest on each other for a flowing piece that showcases the shapes and colours of the fall season.
Design 2: Taillight Earrings
I wanted to bring back one of my favourite jewellery DIYs made with an unconventional material…taillights. The vibrant red and sparkly white parts of the light will be paired up in this earring set to give a pop of colour to the black and grey swirl jacket.
Many, many thanks to Emily for her amazing designs. Please visit her blog to see more of her fabulous creations. You have to see her adorable Nemo stuffed animals and her fabulous yet functional Duct Tape Purse.
