AND THE WINNER IS….. DESIGN 1
I would have been thrilled to wear either design to my holiday party. But I have to admit I was hoping Design 1 would win. By no means was this because I was worried I would not be able to sew all the sequins on Design 2 quick enough. Let’s just say I think I look good in red.
ILLUSTRATING THE DESIGNS
Normally at the start of a challenge I grab my sketchbook and pencil and start illustrating potential designs. Then I narrow the sketches down thinking about the fabric’s properties, which ones would suit the brief and which ones appeal to me. The final two designs are then scanned into the computer and put on the blog for you to vote on each month.
THE POWER OF READER FEEDBACK
This month I tried sketching straight onto my new Surface. The designs were narrowed down much the same way I do every month; how well they meet the brief, and personal preference This month I asked followers on Periscope, twitter, facebook to narrow the designs from eight to the final two challengers. The whole process was a lot of fun for me. I loved getting all the feedback for people’s preferences. Some followers even gave reasons for their choices. This interaction, whether live streamed or on social media, has made the challenge for me. I am excited to be making a design that I know so many of you like and that I cannot wait to wear to the party. Thank you to everyone who commented and a huge thank you to everyone who shared the voting post!
WEEKLY PERISCOPE
I talked about the winning design, the fabric for that design and made an exciting announcement on this week’s Periscope. Thanks to all those who watched.
