I am going to hold a holiday party with fancy dresses, wine, cheese and my fabulous friends. I want to thank my friends for supporting me as I launched my blog. Hopefully with the help of this challenge it will be a smashing success. If you haven’t already guessed, for this month’s challenge I am going to make an amazing outfit, I can wear to host this party. Yes, this is self-serving but what better way to get excited for a sewing project than to have an event to wear it to.
I made the dress in the photo above for a similar occasion in the past and hope that the outfit I make this month will make me feel just as fabulous as I did wearing that dress.
Part of the reason starting this blog was to use some of my favourite fabrics I have been hoarding for years. I have hung on to these fabrics for too long always waiting for the perfect project. Well this month, I am dipping into the reserves and hoping I can create something fabulous.
Create a garment that can be worn to a holiday party. It doesn’t have to be red or green but just has to look hostess worthy.
I must use fabric from the supplies I currently have in plastic tubs in my sewing room.
The garment for the blog must be a size 12.
The fabric can be knit or woven but must be made out of the stock I already own. A small amount of trim or notions might be purchased but only if nothing I already have will suit.
The garment can be one or two pieces.
